Why Visit Barbados?

Barbados is a coral island in the Atlantic Ocean where it meets the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea. Much of the island is ringed by coral reefs and provide an excellent environment for snorkelling and scuba diving. The island lies on the boundary of the Caribbean and South American continental plates making Barbados unique on geological grounds. Within the core of the island, made up mainly of coral sediment, can be found numerous caves and underground lakes. The most famous of which is arguably Harrison’s Cave; a network of caves, waterfalls, pools and fantastic stalagmites and stalactites.

Being part of the British commonwealth and having unique geological attractions as well as a sound infrastructure geared towards promoting tourism, Barbados is a popular tourist destination for both European and American visitors alike. The island is peppered with hotels and more recently a variety of Barbados villas for rent have been built to cater for the rapidly increasing holiday rentals market. As is common with many Barbados villas to rent, a butler or maid is often on hand to cater for your needs, leaving you more time to enjoy everything Barbados has to offer.

The majority of Barbados villas to rent can be found at beach front locations featuring panoramic views of the fine white sandy beaches and the Atlantic or Caribbean Sea. These villas are perfect for those who love to spend their days relaxing by the sea or taking advantage of multitude of water sports which include snorkelling and scuba diving around the expansive coral reefs which can be found off shore. However inland villas are cropping up more often giving tourists easier access to the inland attractions such as Welchman Hall Gully and Harrison’s Cave, botanical gardens and the island’s many other natural attractions.

Although Barbados is relatively flat in comparison to many of its Caribbean neighbours, it does peak in the centre and it’s stepped and gullied terrain makes good walking country. Stunning sea views are seemingly around every corner and as one explores the hillier inner regions of Barbados, the landscape is equally stunning. Organised walks take place every couple of days throughout the year and are easily accessible from most Barbados villas for rent on the island. Barbados is also excellent for cycling, being relatively flat one could easily circumnavigate the island in a series of day tours on a week long break, and keen cyclists could ride around the entire island in a day. With so much to offer it’s no wonder why so many people are looking for a Barbados villa to rent.
