Fig Cottage is reached by a separate gate at the bottom of the garden or through a winding path from Figtree house and pool area, past a fabulous flamboyant tree which is in full bloom in the late spring and early summer. The path leads through terraced gardens passing the huge Figtree that gave the cottage its name. In recent years another porch has been added to the cottage as well as an air conditioned second bedroom, which faces west and is the only room that needs air conditioning on summer afternoons.

The front of the cottage and the secluded, shady patio add to the romantic, picturesque ambiance that makes for a perfect vacation. Honeymooners, empty nesters, young families - all seem to enjoy their stay in the cottage. Over the ten years that we have been receiving vacationers many keep returning for a quiet yet memorable vacation in a totally different world far from commercial bustle.

The Fig Estate is located on the scenic and tranquil Island of Nevis (sister Island of St. Kitts) in the heart of the Caribbean.

There's something about Nevis, described as ‘one of the last remaining unspoiled places on earth’ this small, sombrero-shaped island grabs you. The charm and tranquillity takes you back to a time when things were simpler, when life was more peaceful, when stress was just a word, not a way of life.

This 36-square-mile island lies near the top of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, about 200 miles south of Puerto Rico, and just west of Antigua. This island jewel is approximately 7 miles long and 5 miles wide, with natural vegetation that is unparalleled.

Green and serene, Nevis is truly one of the remaining unspoilt places and proudly carries the name, "Queen of the Caribees." From the top of the 3,232-foot Nevis Peak to the depths of the clear waters offshore, there is a world of flora and fauna to be explored. In the hills, the comical green vervet monkeys chatter and scamper; in the sea, the whales cruise by. Stroll around and see the architecture of eras gone by: churches, windmills, and refurbished Great Houses.

The land for Fig Estate on Nevis, was originally purchased from the Montpelier Plantation Inn and is located on the southern slope of Nevis Peak, overlooking the mountainside and the Caribbean sea at a distance. These charming picturesque houses are available for private rental, either separately or together.

Villa Conditions
*When Fig Cottage is rented the pool is shared, only if the owners are in residence within the house. The house and cottage are never rented to separate parties at the same time, but the owners may be in residence in one or the other, ceding exclusive use of the pool to house renters.

- The owners have a young child and are very safety conscious. Therefore they only accept children to the villa if they are properly supervised. Pool alarms and safety gates are installed for small children. However the pool is beside the house and there is a pond and cactuses within the garden. This means the property is not suitable for young children unless under adult supervision at all times. Though as the owners do have a young child themselves there are garden games available for children!

High Season - Dec 15th - April 15th

Low Season - April 16th - Dec 14th
US$850.00 per week.
