A charming and cozy two-bedroom villa tucked away in a tranquil and secluded cul-de-sac, Chez Shell overlooks Great Cruz Bay and a panorama of yachts riding at anchor.

A foyer ushers you into the open-plan Great Room with an area for dining, a living area furnished with comfortable seating, and adjacent, a cheery well-equipped kitchen. The villa's floors are cool, smooth Jerusalem stone tile. An eclectic mix of Indian, Balinese and American furniture, including some antique pieces, enhances Chez Shell's pleasing interior space. Ceiling fans and screening keep cool tradewinds moving through the villa.

Off one side of the Great Room are two equally-sized bedrooms with air-conditioning, each with a romantic queen four-poster bed swathed with netting. Each bedroom features its own ensuite tiled bath with a shower.

On the opposite side of the Great Room is the walkway out to Chez Shell's just-completed swimming pool and sun deck looking out to the Bay and St. Thomas.

The Great Room extends through two graceful arches to a fully-screened bonus indoor/outdoor living area furnished with tropical wicker pieces, a sublime place for reading or admiring the island view. A desk for your laptop has a sea view, if you absolutely must keep up with your emails during your vacation. Screen doors lead out to Chez Shell's expansive terrace for alfresco dining and pure relaxation. Situated within a grove of trees, the terrace provides privacy from neighbors, a lovely view of the Bay and technicolor sunsets over Pillsbury Sound and St. Thomas at cocktail time.

CHEZ SHELL'S HURRICANE POLICY IS DIFFERENT: Hurricane season in the Caribbean is June 1st - November 30th. If you are renting Chez Shell during this time period (especially during August and September), we highly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance that includes hurricane-cancellation coverage. If you did not purchase travel insurance, and if a hurricane or tropical storm is threatening St. John, preventing you from arriving or departing St. John, or from completing your stay at Chez Shell, we will bank your unused nights at the villa to apply to a future stay at Chez Shell. There will be no cash refunds for interruption of your rental by storms, although you are welcome to rebook your Chez Shell rental within 18 months, paying any difference in rates and Hotel Tax due.
