About The Islands

Anguilla Villas
Anguilla is a little island with a big reputation as a great holiday destination. Just over three miles across at its widest point and only 16 miles long, this small island packs a big holiday punch. If you’re looking for a quiet yet vibrant tropical paradise with plenty to do, this tiny island nation is full of surprises. And if you want to avoid staying in corporate hotels, there are plenty of Anguilla villas to choose from, all with a charm and appeal that’s uniquely Caribbean.

Anguilla is perfect for relaxing on one of the white sandy beaches or trying one of the many water sports on offer. Diving and snorkelling fans will love the guided diving trips through the spectacular coral reefs surrounding the main island. If you like to stay active on holiday then try hiking in the countryside or along the coast, while the island’s compact size makes it perfect for discovering by mountain bike or on horseback.

If you want some lively nightlife or fancy some retail therapy a 20-minute journey via ferry will whisk you away to the boutiques and clubs of nearby Saint Martin.

Of course, some days you’ll just want to relax in the luxury of one of the superb Anguilla villas on offer. Many Anguilla villas for rent feature access to swimming pools and other leisure amenities, so you won’t even have to step outside your own villa compound to experience the Anguilla’s delights. But we recommend you do, because Anguilla is full of hidden delights just waiting to be discovered.

Bahamas Villas
The Bahamas were the first place that Christopher Columbus anchored his ship on his voyage of discovery in the New World. One can only imagine what went through his mind when stepping onto such an unspoilt tropical vista. But with only 22 islands of the Bahamas out of 700 inhabited, you may well have the chance to follow in his footsteps and discover your own slice of paradise.

Not far from the Florida coast, the Bahamas is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean. Dozens of boat excursions depart on a daily basis, giving you the chance to discover the natural beauty of the islands, watch iguanas and other wildlife in their natural habitat, or simply island hop in search of the perfect sunbathing spot. If you fancy something a little more energetic, you can hire a kayak and explore the countless cays and islets in your own time.

Blue Lagoon Island offers you the chance to swim with dolphins, or simply watch them playing from the shore. Organised encounters are led by qualified experts who are only too happy to share their knowledge of dolphins and the other marine life in the area.

On land, you can kick back and relax in one of the Bahamas’ Villas, away from the hotel crowds and resorts. In the Bahamas villas for rent are plentiful and of exceptionally high quality, so you can enjoy the unique charms that the country has to offer at your own pace and with a little bit of luxury to relax in at the end of the day.

Barbados Villas
Like many islands in the Caribbean, Barbados was once a British colony. Today, the cricket-loving nation retains many English traditions, but infuses them with a distinctly Caribbean flavour.

Take a look around some of the island’s many stone churches, watch the horse racing at the weekend or check out a local cricket match and this influence will soon become clear. But don’t be fooled into thinking that this is simply a ‘little England in the Caribbean’ – Barbados has its own identity too. Head out to a restaurant in Barbados and you’ll be in no doubt that the island has a personality divorced from its European cultural roots. The national dish is cou-cou – a tasty mix of cornmeal, okra and flying fish, either steamed or fried.  If you enjoy sampling unique culinary delights while on holiday, Souse is another popular local dish you must try, consisting of pickled pig’s head with vegetables and spices.

Golf is a popular pastime for many guests staying in Barbados villas, as is duty-free shopping in Bridgetown, the island’s capital. If you want to get away from it all and experience the island’s diverse natural habitats, head over to the Barbados Wildlife Reserve. There you’ll come face to face with local wildlife including monkeys, caimans, iguanas and red-footed turtles.

Accommodation on the island will provide you with the ideal place to relax and forget your cares. Many Barbados villas for rent are situated in areas of great natural beauty, providing spectacular sea views, solitude amidst tropical gardens or facing directly onto the beachfront.

Dominican Republic Villas
Of all the islands in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic is one of the least crowded and unspoilt. If you’re looking for a holiday packed with adventure, breathtaking scenery and wildlife, this island paradise may be just what you’re looking for.

The east coast is home to many all-inclusive resorts and Dominican Republic villas, while the country’s interior remains dominated by a patchwork of rugged natural terrain. Birdwatchers will be astounded by the number of species to be spotted in the islands national parks. If you’re more into hiking then you can enjoy a number of guided treks along rivers, up mountains, through rainforests and isolated villages.

Experience some of nature’s most beautiful creatures up close with a trip to the humpback whale sanctuary in Samana, just off the country’s north coast. The sanctuary is one of the largest of its kind in the world, and is the breeding ground for thousands of whales.

The Dominican Republic is also a popular destination for scuba divers. Scuba diving opportunities can be found throughout much of the Caribbean, but the dive spots here are renowned as being some of the best in the world. Whether you’re an experienced diver or first-time novice, you’ll find ample opportunities to explore wrecks and witness exotic marine life beneath the waves.

If the hustle and bustle of all-inclusive resorts isn’t your thing, you’ll be pleased to know that there are many Dominican Republic villas for rent so you can relax in peace and quiet at the end of a busy day.

Jamaica Villas

Despite its relatively small size, Jamaica’s cultural influence has spread around the globe. As the birthplace and spiritual home of reggae, ska and other popular genres of music, Jamaica is renowned for its laidback attitude and prominent African roots.

If you’re interested in discovering more about the godfather of reggae and the world’s best known Rastafarian, you can take a trip to Bob Marley’s former home in Kingston, which has been turned into a museum about his life and music. If you’ve still not had enough of Jamaica’s most famous son, you can head over to Montego Bay for the Bob Marley Experience, which includes hourly screenings of a documentary on his life.

But Jamaica has much more to offer besides the popular cultural icons for which it is well known. Go hiking in the Blue Mountains, or witness the 600ft waterfall at Dunn’s River Falls. Visit the Blue Lagoon or wander through the colonial remnants of extravagant mansions and botanical gardens.
Jamaican food is as well known for its flair as the country’s cultural exports, and no holiday would be complete without sampling some authentic barbecued ‘jerk’ chicken, or perhaps some curried goat.

In Jamaica villas are a great accommodation option if you’re looking for a space of your own to relax in once the day’s sightseeing is done. Jamaica villas for rent come in a variety of sizes, from single bedroom honeymoon villas, to expansive seven bedroom properties complete with butlers and other staff, so there’s something to suit every taste and budget.

Nevis Villas
Hundreds of years ago, Nevis was known by its Amerindian name of Oualie, which translates as ‘land of beautiful waters’. After a short stay in any of the beautiful Nevis villas, it’s easy to see why.

Part of the federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the island has at its centre the dormant volcanic summit of Nevis Peak. If you feel like a challenge you can complete the four hour roundtrip to the top, though be warned that this is one of the more difficult hikes to be found in the Caribbean. But if you’re lucky enough to pick a cloudless day you will be rewarded by some spectacular panoramic views of the island.

Hikers can also enjoy a range of guided treks on the island which take in dramatic waterfalls, dense rainforest and the island’s abundant green vervet monkeys.

A more relaxing day out can be had meanwhile at the Bath Springs near the capital, Charlestown. These thermal hot springs have attracted visitors for centuries and are reputed to have therapeutic qualities, so why not take a dip and let your cares soak away?

This kind of sublime holiday relaxation can also be found in many luxury Nevis villas for rent, which often boast fabulous views out over the sea or across the island’s lush vegetation.

If you have time to spare from your leisurely exploration of Nevis, be sure to pop the two miles by boat across ‘the Narrows’ to check out the natural and historic sights of neighbouring Saint Kitts.

St Barts Villas
St Barts, or to give it its full French name, Saint Barthelemy, is an overseas department of France with more than a little in common with the popular seaside resorts found in the south of its parent land.

A tiny island with a land mass just a little over 8sq miles and a population of under 10,000, St Barts is a favourite with pop stars, models and other wealthy A-listers. With 14 beaches, a number of charming rural villages to explore and plenty of fine French and Caribbean cuisine to sample, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular with the rich and famous.

Also a popular stop-off for cruise ships, if you want to avoid the crowds and work on your tan in peace then take the half-hour walk along a former goat trail to Colombier Beach. You’ll be rewarded with a tranquil stretch of pristine sand and turquoise waters, with very few other tourists to block your light or spoil your view.

When you’re not soaking up the tropical sunshine or relaxing in your St Barts villa, you might like to try your hand at surfing or windsurfing. The island has many bays suitable for practising your technique, as well as a few that offer favourable surf conditions for the more experienced. A number of surf shops on St Barts offer both equipment hire and lessons.

After a week or more in any of St Barts villas to rent, you should be fully recharged and rested, but won’t necessarily be too keen to head home.

St Croix Villas
Part of the US Virgin Islands, St Croix features a variety of diverse terrains, and a wealth of Caribbean history. There is also a healthy selection of St Croix villas for rent, so you can take your pick of the best this fascinating island has to offer.

Take a tour of the island and witness the scenery change from arid cactus landscapes in the east through fertile plains and on to mountainous rainforest country in the west.

The names of the island’s two main towns, Christiansted and Fredriksted, bear testament to the fact this was once at the heart of what was then the Danish West Indies. To discover the remains of this colonial past, visit the Christiansted National Historic Site, which houses five historic buildings dating back to the 18th Century.

Like many Caribbean islands, St Croix once had a thriving sugar cane industry. If you want to gain an insight into what life was like on a sugar plantation visit the Estate Whim Plantation Museum. You can take a tour of the greathouse in which the wealthy plantation owners lived, whilst the museum also doesn’t shy away from confronting the slavery of the past. To complete this picture of the island’s history, visit the remains of Fort Frederik, where thousands of slaves gathered in 1848 to demand their freedom.

And when you’ve had your fill of history for the day, retire to one of the island’s many beaches, or relax in one of the St Croix villas that give you a true taste of St Croix island life.

St John Villas
St John is the smallest of the US Virgin Islands, but for anyone who loves the outdoors and wildlife, it’s a great destination.

Two thirds of the island is part of the Virgin Islands National Park. Here you can wander freely amongst sub-tropical forest made up of over 800 species of plant and indulge in a spot of bird watching. There’s a good chance that you’ll also bump into at least one of several hundred wild donkeys that roam the park.

The focus on St John is on environmentally friendly tourism, and great efforts have been taken by the local authorities to preserve the island’s natural environment for visitors, the locals and the wildlife that calls it home. If you’re looking for a Caribbean island with lots to offer but without the usual thronging crowds spilling out from cruise ships, you may well have found what you’re looking for.

But if you’re after a bit of nightlife, take a trip to the town of Cruz Bay and you’ll find no shortage of bars and restaurants to while away the hours, as well as plenty of places offering a variety of guided excursions and activities.

Unlike many Caribbean islands, you won’t find any of the mega-resorts clogging up the coastline here, but there are a good many St John villas to choose from which are perfect for a relaxing break in the sun. The diverse range of St John villas to rent means that whether you’re here on honeymoon, with friends or on a family holiday, there’s something to suit all tastes.

St Lucia Villas
The Caribbean as a whole is popular with honeymooning couples and anyone looking to inject a little romance into their relationship. But despite some stiff competition, St Lucia has a reputation for being one of the best destinations for romantic breaks in the region.

There is no one thing that singles out the island as a hot spot for l’amore, but if your idea of romance is white sand beaches, lush green hills and bathing beneath waterfalls then you’re in luck.

A luxurious break in a St Lucia villa provides the perfect setting for relaxing in one another’s company, and if you can tear yourselves away from gazing into each other’s eyes momentarily there’s plenty to do on the island too.

Horse riding and quad biking are a great way to explore St Lucia’s beaches and countryside, while a number of wellness spas are dedicated to bringing visitors to the pinnacles of hedonistic relaxation.

Fishing is also very popular in St Lucia, and there are plenty of places where you can charter a boat in search of Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Barracuda and other prized game fish.

If fishing isn’t really your thing, you can take a boat excursion out into the crystal clear waters for a spot of whale or dolphin watching.

Whether you’ve been together for almost a lifetime or are still in the early throes of new love, the island promises an unforgettable romantic experience that is completed by the many St Lucia villas for rent, to give you the ultimate in island holidays.

St Martin Villas
St Martin is unique in the Caribbean in having a French side and a Dutch side. This has been the case for over three centuries, and the good news is that it gives you the chance to explore not two but three different cultures within a compact tropical island.

The French side (St Martin) is, perhaps unsurprisingly, very French, while the Dutch half of the island (Siint Maarten) has embraced Caribbean culture far more wholeheartedly.

Whichever side of the divide you are, you’ll find pleasing similarities - beautiful beaches, duty free designer fashions, a lively bar scene and sumptuous St Martin Villas.

A gourmet’s delight, the island is also home to dozens of world class restaurants, and has been called the gourmet capital of the Caribbean. After lounging on the beach during the day, you can take your pick from French, Caribbean, Italian, German and other international cuisines.

Later in the evening you’ll find no shortage of watering holes and entertainment. St Martin is almost as well known for its nightlife as it is its food, with a good smattering of bars and clubs to cater for most tastes. If you fancy a flutter, the island also has a number of large casinos with all the card games and slots you’d expect, as well as some traditional Caribbean games.

Whether you choose to base yourself on the French or the Dutch side of the island you’ll find plenty of St Martin villas for rent, and crossing back and forth over the border is no problem.

St Thomas Villas
St Thomas is part of the US Virgin Islands, and one of the most popular destinations with cruise ships. If you’re into shopping, busy nightlife and beaches you’ll feel right at home here. But the island also has its fair share of historical sights and sublimely relaxing experiences, and there are plenty of St Thomas villas for rent to use as a base.

Take a chartered boat and explore the sparkling seas around the island, with opportunities for snorkelling and relaxing in the warm Caribbean sea breeze. Alternatively, you can board a ferry over to nearby Water Island where you can enjoy a day out cycling around the island with knowledgeable local guides. Sparsely populated and with very little traffic, the island is a perfect place to go if you want a break from the crowds.

Back on St Thomas, visit Fort Christian – the oldest remaining building in the Virgin Islands. Blackbeard’s castle provides a fun day out for the whole family, with tour guides dressed up as pirates giving a tour of the 17th Century fort which was built during the time of Danish rule on the island.

Gain a unique birds-eye perspective of the island’s capital Charlotte Amalie and its harbour with a trip on the St Thomas Skyride, a tramway that carries visitors over 200 metres above the town to Paradise Point.

Finally, watch the sun set across the Caribbean from the comfort of your St Thomas Villa, or head out into town to sample the island’s exciting nightlife.

Tortola Villas

To get an authentic taste of the culture of the British Virgin Islands head to Tortola, the largest and most densely populated island of the group.

Formed long ago by volcanic activity, Tortola has a dramatic mountainous terrain that will take your breath away. Many Tortola villas are perched on mountainsides and peaks, providing stunning views of the lush green vegetation below and the sea beyond.

One of the Caribbean’s most famous exports is its rum. The drink was first discovered in colonial times, when slaves working on sugar cane plantations discovered that they could make alcohol from molasses. It has remained an important part of local culture ever since, and on Tortola you can visit the Callwoods rum distillery to learn more about the distilling process, and of course sample some of the end products.

In Tortola’s capital, Roadtown, you can also buy rum and other local produce at the traditional market, as well as trying some of the island’s seafood delicacies, which include freshly caught lobster and conch.

If you’re keen to learn more about the culture and history of the British Virgin Islands, head over to the BVI Folk Museum, which is packed with artefacts and exhibits dating back to colonial days.

Of course, in between sampling rum, gorging yourself on seafood and sunbathing on the beach, you can simply relax in luxurious style in one of the many Tortola villas to rent. With great accommodation, a wonderful island culture and plenty to do and see, Tortola is one of the true gems of the Caribbean.

Turks and Caicos Villas
Turks and Caicos is an archipelago made up of a dozen islands and many smaller cays. For a relaxing base from which to explore the islands or to simply chill out in the Caribbean sunshine, Turks and Caicos villas cannot be beaten.

The islands here are quieter than many in the Caribbean, but you’ll certainly not be stuck for anything to do during your stay. The many towns and villages contain a wealth of history, while the nature and wildlife experiences to be had are simply stunning.

The phrase ‘once in a lifetime’ is bandied about a lot, but take a boat out to the breeding grounds of the humpback whale off the coast of Salt Cay and you’ll see that it is sometimes justified. As well as whale-watching from the deck, you may just get the chance to dive amongst these giants, and hear their incredible underwater melodies.

Over at Gibbs Cay you can get up close with shoals of stingray, while the sparsely populated island of North Caicos offers the chance to see a great range of wildlife, from pink flamingos and nesting ospreys to iguanas and farmed king crabs.

Golfers will be pleased to know that Providenciales is home to one of the Caribbean’s finest 18-hole courses. The course winds its way between numerous lakes and teems with exotic birdlife.

Whichever island you choose to stay on you’ll find it simple to get around, and there are plenty of quality Turks and Caicos villas to make your stay a truly luxurious affair.

Virgin Gorda Villas
If you’re looking for something a little extra from your holiday in the Caribbean, you would do well to book into a Virgin Gorda villa. Part of the British Virgin Islands, the island has many unique geological features which add to the magic of the tropical climate and crystal clear waters.

Most famous amongst these is ‘The Baths’- a series of huge granite boulders and rock formations thrown out by ancient volcanic eruptions. You can quite easily spend a whole day here, lost in the otherworldly spectacle, overshadowed by palm trees and surrounded by powdery sands.

Take a ramble over rocks and through natural tunnels from The Baths to reach Devil’s Bay, one of the Virgin Islands’ best kept secrets, and a peaceful place to sunbathe or snorkel in the shallow waters.

If you’re into scuba diving, the wreck of the Chikuzen is an absolute must see. This huge ship, which is still virtually intact, sunk 12 miles off the Virgin Gorda coast 30 years ago, and has become home to an array of marine life including sharks, rays and barracuda.

These unique features, along with the Caribbean staples of pristine beaches, year-round sunshine and vibrant island culture, play a key part in the island’s allure to visitors, but it remains less commercial and crowded than many of its counterparts. Best of all, with a variety of Virgin Gorda villas to rent, you can have a small piece of this island paradise to yourself for the duration of your stay.
